Feeling like a dead duck -- spitting out pieces of his broken luck. Sun streaking cold -- an old man wandering lonely. Taking time the only way he knows. Leg hurting bad, as he bends to pick a dog-end -- he goes down to the bog and warms his feet. Feeling alone -- the army's up the rode salvation à la mode and a cup of tea. Aqualung my friend -- don't start away uneasy you poor old sod, you see, it's only me. Do you still remember December's foggy freeze -- when the ice that clings on to your beard is screaming agony. And you snatch your rattling last breaths with deep-sea-diver sounds, and the flowers bloom like madness in the spring. Jethro Tull- Aqualung. 　英国出身のプログレ･バンドの巨人の、’７１年発表の４th。
　本作では、コンセプト･アルバムとして制作されている点が、これまでの作品とは大きく異なる。
　ただし､そのコンセプトに振り回される事なく､一つの作品としてのまとまり具合、すなわち完成度が一層向上しており、バンドが持ち合わせている親しみやすさを際立たせている。
　前作に参加し､本作から正式メンバーとなったキーボード奏者、JOHN EVANの存在も大きく、様々な音楽の要素を取り入れ､それを熟成させるのに成功しており､バンドの個性に磨きを掛けている。
　このはっきりと定められたバンドの音楽的方向性と、コンセプトの両立が、本作が傑作たる所以であろう。
